Visitors of Antwerp can check out a number of nearby attractions. Eastern Flanders is one of the popular parts of Antwerp, featuring a number of attractions. Lier, also known as Pallieterstad is located close to the meeting point between Grote River and Klein Nete, a short distance from Antwerp. - Lichtaart
Located a few miles east of Antwerp, Lichtaart is a hot spot for its roller coasters within the Bobbejeanland theme park that was founded in 1961. It is considered one of the most popular amusement parks in Europe and is home to countless attractions to the visitors seeking thrilling experiences, including the El Rio, the Locomotion, 4D Theater and the Thrillenium Ride. It is open daily during summer from 0930 to 1830 and admission is free.
- Mechelen
With a population of more than 80,000 residents Mechelen is a Dutch-speaking city located 26 km south of Antwerp. The visitors can take a day trip to the city to view the different attractions including St. Romboutskathedraal, dating back to the 16th century, where the guests can climb the tower after making arrangements in advance. Other attractions are the 13th Century Brusselpoort gateway, the Museum Hof Van Busleyden and the Tor Museum. These attractions are open daily for 24 hours and admission is free.
